I purchased this Shirt pattern a while back but was abit nervous to try it as I thought a shirt would be hard to make. However the pattern is so clearly written that this morning I made my 9 year old grandson a shirt and it came together beautifully. I will definitely be making more

I had been putting off making this sort of shirt for a child as I know how tricky they can be when making adult blouses. However this was really easy. The collar is trapped between the shirt and the facing so easy to do - it would also be possible to adjust the collar to a different shape if wanted. Adding the sleeves before doing the side and arm seams makes them easy to insert. I didn't want a stretch cuff so cut one from the woven fabric added to the bottom of the sleeve and turned it up, all easy to do. I think I'll be making lots more of these.

I made this shirt actually for a 3 nearly 4 year old boy (I used size 5). I extended the facings to form a full width yoke back and front, and used Kam snaps rather than buttons. I also treated the sleeve bands as bindings so the seams were enclosed. He was happy with his shirt.
